When the sky dump 30 cm of snow and sunshine I am a happy skier. It’s a fantastic feeling to be out in the nature overlooking the mountain tops, taking a deep breath of fresh air. Getting ready to carve and sink into the powder feeling like a feather in the air. A thrilling scream in your head being one with the nature, yihaaaa!

The popular ski resort Argentière is a small and authentic alpine village. Probably with the best skiing in the world. Skiers from different parts of the world live here because of the cult ski area. The 2,039 m vertical drop from the summit of the Grands Montets (3,275 m) to the village is one of the highest in the World.

The UCPA center in Argentiere is the address for a week. The newly renovated center  is fresh and enough space for the group of good friends. Argentiere is close to Charmonix if you are looking for more bars and party. Outside the center is the bar Savoy with a great after ski. I had my birthday celebration at Savoy and happy that the live band played “happy birthday” in a full house.

The ski instructor was honest and announced high risk of avalanche. We picked up the skis, shovel and avalanche transmitter from the well organized UCPA team. It snowed 30 cm the first night and we had a great day on the off-piste slopes! The afternoon continued with Après Ski!

With several different skiing systems and many kilometers of slopes you could probably ski on a new hill every day for a week. We were lucky with so much sun shining on us. During the night there was another dump of powder! We were climbing to the mounting with sweat running down on our back. I made a wish for untouched powder and only me, me, me to be there first.
