Scenic MTB along the coast line – Kullaleden
The ocean was wild and so was the wind. On the positive side the breeze pushed me forward as a helping hand. In fact, saving me strength in effect to enjoy the bike tour. Most significantly, Kullaleden is a part of Skåneleden, 70 km scenic trail along the coast line. Above all, a perfect choice for the mountainbike to roll with varied experiences as Nyhamnsläge harbour, the scenic view in Mölle, the monstorous Kullaberg and not to forget the famous castle Sofiero. But first, the day started on the train station in Malmö, with a ticket to Helsingborg in one hand and the MTB in the other. The trail I never biked before was about to begin, jumping on the saddle heading in a northern direction passing the ferry leaving the port to Helsingör. Further on, the fishing village Mölle was the next stop famous for the majestic Grand Hotel overlooking the bay. In contrast from 100 years ago when danish and germans flocked the water there were only a few brave surfers mastering the waves. Continuing towards the ridge of Kullaberg, carrying the bike on slippery and steep stone steps, pushing myself to the top on it’s highest point 187,5 m. While there having the luxury to roll down the nature reserve towards the next stop in Arild. On a wooden stair over a fence with bleating goats overlooking the water of Skälderviken I enjoyed a packed sandwich and salty nuts washed down with fresh water. Further on along the way through nature reserves with ruminants bending their neck to eat the crispy grass. Next off was Ängelholm and the final stop before the train station to reach a full circle back to Malmö.
